Docking Bay 328, a docking bay under the authority of Station Control West, was built on the western side of the Galactic Empire's Death Star superweapon. During the year 0 BBY, when the YT-1300 light freighter called the Millennium Falcon was drawn by a tractor beam into Docking Bay 327, Docking Bay 328 was locked down, and all traffic was rerouted to Docking Bays 328 and 329, resulting in a delay of seven minutes. Not long after the Falcon escaped, the docking bay was obliterated with the rest of the Death Star in the Battle of Yavin.
The short story "End of Watch," penned by Adam Christopher and featured in the From a Certain Point of View anthology, which was released on October 3, 2017, contained the initial reference to Docking Bay 328.
