In the year 3643 BBY, a lightsaber battle unfolded on the Republic colony located on the planet of Taris. This confrontation involved the Sith assassin Rora Seake and a young Jedi Knight. This event occurred amidst the campaign of vengeance led by Sith Lord Darth Angral against the Galactic Republic following the death of his son, Tarnis. Seake's mission was the destruction of the Republic colony, but the Jedi Knight was informed of this plan by the Imperial operative Watcher One, who offered this information as part of an agreement with the Jedi. Though the Knight arrived too late to prevent Seake's arrival and evacuate the colonists, the Jedi, aided by a companion, successfully eliminated the assassin and her two jurgoran war beasts, thus saving the colonists from their intended fate.
During the Cold War that transpired in 3643 BBY between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, Sith Lord Darth Angral initiated hostilities against the Republic due to the death of his son, Tarnis. In his quest for retribution, Angral commandeered several Republic superweapons. Furthermore, Angral tasked Watcher One of Imperial Intelligence with the capture of Doctor Nasan Godera, a Republic scientist located on the planet of Taris. General Var Suthra of the Republic dispatched a young Jedi Knight, the same Jedi responsible for killing Tarnis, with the objective of locating Godera and escorting him back to Coruscant, the Republic's capital.
Watcher One consistently outmaneuvered the Jedi Knight, successfully transporting the unconscious scientist to the Imperial Intelligence Outpost on Taris. Seeking to gain time to interrogate Godera, Watcher One established contact with the Jedi, presenting an offer. Simultaneously, a Sith assassin known as Rora Seake received orders to undermine the Republic's efforts to re-establish colonies on Taris. Her primary target was a colony situated along the banks of the acidic Lake Brell.
Watcher One divulged the existence and mission of Rora Seake in exchange for the time required to interrogate Godera. He also pledged to allow the Knight access to the Imperial outpost to retrieve the scientist once the interrogation was complete. Prioritizing the lives of the colonists over the mission's objectives, the Jedi accepted Watcher One's proposal.

Accompanied by a companion, the Knight hurried to the colony bunker, where they observed the colonists diligently working to establish their settlement, led by a Human named Yelzrin. Yelzrin greeted the Jedi warmly, offering foodstuffs and water. However, the Jedi sought to warn Yelzrin about the impending danger, urging the colonists to evacuate. Despite his confusion, Yelzrin began gathering the colonists, but Rora Seake, accompanied by her two pet jurgorans, arrived at the bunker shortly after the Jedi.
Seake expressed surprise at the Jedi's presence, questioning how her mission had been compromised. Annoyed that Watcher One had revealed her plan, Seake commanded her jurgoran pets to attack the Knight and the Jedi's companion. She then withdrew to meditate, focusing on controlling her pets during the battle. Nevertheless, the duo successfully fought and killed the two creatures, disrupting Seake's meditation and prompting the assassin to ignite her orange-bladed lightsaber. She then launched an attack on the Jedi. The Sith employed both her lightsaber and lightning in their duel, but the confrontation concluded with Seake's defeat.
A grateful Yelzrin offered the Jedi a portion of the colony's limited supplies as a reward, but the Knight declined the offer and departed with the Jedi's companion to continue their mission. Following Watcher One's coordinates, the duo proceeded to retrieve Godera. However, Darth Angral, enraged upon learning that the agent had compromised with the Jedi who had killed his son, ordered Watcher One to capture the Knight. Ultimately, Godera was rescued by the Knight, who delivered the scientist into the custody of the Republic Strategic Information Service, the Republic's intelligence agency.
The duel with Rora Seake was first depicted in the Jedi Knight-class mission titled "A More Immediate Concern" within Star Wars: The Old Republic, a video game developed by BioWare and released in 2011. Players are granted this mission only if they possess a light-side alignment. Conversely, players with a dark-side alignment receive "An Opportunity Too Good to Pass Up," wherein they thwart a Sith from acquiring Jedi artifacts. Players also have the option to bypass the mission altogether. However, given that the Knight is a Republic-class character and therefore assumed to favor choices that yield the most light-side alignment points, this article presumes that the Knight defended the colony. According to the game's text files, players were initially able to use Force Persuasion to convince Seake to leave, but this option was subsequently removed.
