Duel on Chelloa

The confrontation on Chelloa, known as the Duel on Chelloa, involved the Sith Lord named Daiman and the Jedi Knight named Kerra Holt. This clash took place at Daiman's compound located on Chelloa, during the Chelloa campaign within the era of the Republic Dark Age.

History

Background

During Operation Influx, Jedi Master Vannar Treece led a Jedi team that disrupted Daimanate's baradium ore shipments by attacking Oranessan and Chelloa. However, the operation ended tragically on Chelloa; all but Jedi Knight Kerra Holt were eliminated in a battle against Sith Lord Odion, leader of the Odionate principality and Daiman's estranged older brother. Gorlan Palladane, a former Jedi Knight and undercover agent providing intelligence on Chelloa to Treece, sheltered Holt. Gorlan also headed the Chelloan resistance, a clandestine group aiding the Republic and Jedi against the Sith.

Because the baradium operations on Chelloa were confidential, Daiman wanted to find out how Odion received intelligence. He captured Skodo, a Rodian mechanic within the Chelloan resistance, and tortured him to death with Force lightning at his mountain compound above the Jenith mining colony.

The duel

Kerra Holt infiltrated Daiman's compound by commandeering the shuttle used for delivering his statues, landing in the hangar. Daiman, engrossed in torturing Skodo, remained unaware of Holt's entry and her silent elimination of the guards outside the torture chamber. She entered a room and concealed herself atop one of Daiman's statues. After Daiman finished with Skodo, he ordered the removal of the Rodian's body. However, he noticed that one of his statues had its head removed. As Daiman was surprised, Holt attacked, shattering the statue and knocking him down.

During the fight, Holt ensnared Daiman within a suspension field. She checked Skodo, but finding no pulse, realized he was dead. She verbally confronted Daiman, criticizing his destruction of Chelloa's environment and his use of slaves to manage his mobile munitions complexes. Daiman justified his actions by expressing his belief in the Sith principle of self-glorification and his view that reality was an illusion. As he used his Force abilities to escape the suspension field, he diverted Holt by revealing that Odion was planning another attack, possessing a mobile space station called The Spike that could produce more of the devastating kinetic corruptors.

Breaking free, he managed to activate his lightsaber and prepared to fight Holt. However, Holt had already escaped and stolen one of Daiman's starfighters, incapacitating the pilot. Daiman had sent a squadron of starfighters to attack Odion's space station. Instead of stopping the mission, Daiman saw Holt as a weapon against his rival Odion.
