Ezra's broadcast

Ezra Bridger's](/article/ezra_bridger) broadcast, which took place in 4 BBY following the raid on the communications tower, served as a call to arms. Drawing inspiration from his parents, Mira and Ephraim, Ezra's message urged the inhabitants of the galaxy to stand defiant against the tyranny of the Galactic Empire. This rebel message was transmitted from the compromised Imperial Communications Center located on the planet Lothal, and it was distributed across the galaxy until Governor Wilhuff Tarkin ordered the center's destruction.

The broadcast

Legacy

Despite the Galactic Empire's attempts to suppress the transmission, it resonated with countless individuals on Lothal and in neighboring star systems. Ultimately, it spread throughout the galaxy, reaching even the most remote locations and instilling hope during times of despair. The resistance against the Empire evolved from scattered cells into a unified force, known as the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

Furthermore, Ezra's broadcast reached his parents, Mira and Ephraim Bridger, who had been arrested and imprisoned for treason, the very people who inspired him. Upon hearing their son's voice and his powerful words, the Bridgers were motivated to orchestrate a break with dozens of other prisoners. While they successfully facilitated the escape of others, the Bridgers themselves perished.

In 4 ABY, not long before the Battle of Endor, C-3PO recounted the story of Ezra's galaxy-wide broadcast to the Ewoks of Endor, explaining how a young boy ignited a rebellion with a message that spanned across numerous worlds.
