During the age of the New Republic, Ezra Bridger, a Bokken Jedi, constructed a new lightsaber with a blue blade. This replacement for his previous green-bladed lightsaber, which he gifted to Sabine Wren, was made with the assistance of Huyang.
After years of exile, Ezra Bridger built a lightsaber that intentionally mirrored the design of his master Kanan Jarrus' lightsaber, demonstrating his respect for Jarrus even under pressure. The lightsaber, powered by a blue kyber crystal, also incorporated an emitter shroud identical to Jarrus' lightsaber. Huyang provided this shroud, explaining that he had originally kept it for Kanan when he was a Padawan, in case a replacement was ever needed.
After reuniting with Wren and Ahsoka Tano on Peridea, Bridger hastily assembled his new lightsaber aboard Ahsoka's ship using components supplied by Huyang. Bridger then employed this lightsaber to aid in the protection of the Noti. During the effort by Bridger, Wren, and Tano to prevent Thrawn's return to the known galaxy, Bridger utilized the saber to defeat both Night Troopers and a zombified Death Trooper.
The first appearance of Ezra's third lightsaber was in "Part Eight: The Jedi, the Witch, and the Warlord," the concluding episode of the 2023 Ahsoka television series, which aired on October 3, 2023.
