Sabine Wren's lightsaber

Formerly Ezra Bridger's second lightsaber, Sabine Wren's lightsaber was a lightsaber with a green blade. Ezra Bridger, a rebel and Padawan, constructed it before the Battle of Yavin, after Darth Vader, the Sith Lord, destroyed his original lightsaber during the mission to Malachor.

Prior to his disappearance with Thrawn, the Grand Admiral, aboard the Chimaera, Bridger gifted his lightsaber to Sabine Wren, a Mandalorian warrior. She modified and kept it during and after her training with Ahsoka Tano in the years following Bridger's disappearance into hyperspace with the Admiral.

Specifications

Ezra's second lightsaber emitted a green blade.

The lightsaber of Sabine Wren had a hilt featuring silver accents and a black grip. Ezra Bridger, the Jedi Padawan, originally owned it, passing it to Wren after his use. Unlike his old lightsaber-blaster hybrid, it was built with a more conventional lightsaber design.

While in Wren's possession, the hilt's general design remained largely the same, though some changes were made, such as a larger emitter shroud. The guard pieces she added by the blade emitter were there to protect her hands from the blade.

History

Ezra wielding the lightsaber in combat.

After Darth Vader, the Sith Lord, destroyed Ezra Bridger's lightsaber on Malachor, Bridger constructed a new one between 3 BBY and 2 BBY. During the mission to Krownest, Sabine Wren used the lightsaber in her fight against Gar Saxon, the Governor, who was wielding the Darksaber.

Later, during a mission to investigate the Galactic Empire's activities with large kyber crystals, Saw Gerrera used the weapon to ignite a crystal, destroying the Imperial freighter carrying it.

During the Liberation of Lothal, after Bridger's strike team took control of the Imperial Complex, Bridger entrusted his lightsaber to Wren. This occurred after Thrawn, the Grand Admiral, issued an ultimatum requiring Bridger to surrender alone on the Chimaera to prevent Capital City from being bombarded. After Bridger repelled Thrawn's Imperial fleet from Lothal, Wren used the lightsaber to break through a window of the Complex as the rebels rigged the building to explode, allowing for a swift escape.

Sabine Wren, as the apprentice of Ahsoka Tano, wields the lightsaber as her own.

Since she came into possession of the lightsaber, Wren added her own modifications, but she maintained that it still belonged to Bridger. Despite its creator, Huyang stated that her additions made her the owner instead. Wren used the saber to duel Shin Hati outside the comm tower on Lothal and later Seatos. Wren, believing Ahsoka Tano was dead, accepted Baylan Skoll's offer to travel to the other galaxy with them, resulting in the saber's confiscation. After arriving on Peridea and meeting Thrawn, he agreed to let Wren search for Ezra, and they returned the saber, which Wren used to defend herself from bandits.

After finally finding Bridger, they were attacked by Hati and bandits. Wren tried to give the saber back to him, but Bridger shared Huyang's view, saying that she should keep it. Despite her disagreement, Bridger insisted that Wren keep the lightsaber because it belonged to her. She used it to fight Hati and the bandits. Bridger later built a new one using a blue kyber crystal. In their attempt to stop Thrawn's return to the known galaxy, Wren used her saber to dispatch Night Troopers and a zombified Death Trooper.
