Star Wars Rebels third season constitutes the third installment of the Star Wars Rebels animated TV show. The season began with a one-hour TV film, entitled Steps Into Shadow, which aired on September 24, 2016. The regular episodes started airing on October 1, 2016, commencing with "The Holocrons of Fate." In this season, Dave Filoni relinquished his position as supervising director, with Justin Ridge taking over.
After creating a clandestine base on Atollon, the Ghost team, now under the guidance of a more formidable Ezra, bolsters the rebel armada by securing additional supplies and enlisting new members who are keen to oppose the Empire. However, the Empire's endeavors to crush the rebellion are now spearheaded by the detached and calculating Grand Admiral Thrawn. His strategic, tactical, and cultural understanding presents a level of danger that surpasses any previous encounters. During season three, Ezra and Sabine embrace fresh responsibilities and hurdles as the rebels gear up for their most ambitious undertaking to date: a frontal offensive against the Empire.
