Purple and striped, Flitterpods were a type of fish that possessed fins. These creatures inhabited the river located on the forest planet of Tenoo. In 232 BBY, Jedi younglings named Kai Brightstar and Lys Solay journeyed along the river and observed these animals. Solay became fascinated by them, which nearly resulted in their speeder crashing. During the same year, a flitterpod took the lightsaber belonging to the Jedi youngling Nubs, though he ultimately managed to recover it from the fish.
Kai Brightstar and [Lys Solay](/article/lys_solay], who were Jedi younglings, traveled alongside some flitterpods in a speeder down the river on Tenoo in 232 BBY. Solay had previously heard about these creatures but was unaware that they inhabited this area. She became engrossed in watching them dart in and out of the water, and almost crashed into a tree root, but Brightstar warned her just in time. Later that same year, Bell Zettifar, a Jedi Padawan, and Brightstar encountered some flitterpods swimming in a stream located within one of Tenoo's forests.
Also in that year, the Jedi youngling Nubs accidentally tossed his lightsaber onto a rock in Tenoo's river after tripping. As he attempted to retrieve it using the Force, a flitterpod jumped out of the water, happily chittering as it took the weapon in its mouth. Nubs exclaimed in surprise and pursued the flitterpod as it swam downstream and over a waterfall, ultimately using a vine to swing over to the creature and reclaim his lightsaber.
The animated series Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures featured Flitterpods for the first time in "Get Well Nubs," which was the opening segment of the third episode of its first season. This episode was made available on May 4, 2023. Prior to the episode's premiere, these creatures were shown, though without being named, in a trailer for the series that was released on April 10.
