The Frangawl Cult performed a ritualistic act: the sacrifice of individuals to Malmourral, the Bardottan war demon. This ceremony entailed the selection of individuals strong in the Living Force, who were then brought to the Frangawl Temple. This temple, located underground on Bardotta, served as the cult's base. The leader of the cult would begin chanting before pushing the victim down an oiled ramp into the open mouth of a Malmourral statue. Upon reaching the statue's jaws, the sacrifice was electrocuted by green lightning, which transferred their Living Force into the living sphere. The now-lifeless body was then dropped into the [magma](/article/magma] below.
Back in 19 BBY, Peteen, who was the cult's leader, carried out the ritual by sacrificing several members of the Bahk-tov Council. However, his attempt to sacrifice Queen Julia was thwarted by the arrival of Junior Representative Jar Jar Binks alongside Jedi Master Mace Windu. The Galactic Republic had dispatched them to assist the Bardottans in uncovering the truth behind the Bahk-tov Council's disappearances. Despite Windu and Binks's intervention, Peteen managed to escape with Julia, taking her to the Temple of Malmourral which was located on the moon known as Zardossa Stix. There, Peteen met with Mother Talzin, whom they referred to as the Great Mother. Talzin intended to use a lens device to capture Queen Julia's Living Force by utilizing the energy of Zardossa Stix's sun, but once again, Binks and Windu intervened. Peteen met his death, and the living sphere was destroyed during the conflict.
