Biography

Lieutenant Galle on Felucia

Galle's designation referred to a clone originating from the planet Kamino. He was created from the genetic template of the human male bounty hunter Jango Fett. Galle's purpose was to fight for the Galactic Republic in the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. By 19 BBY, during the Clone Wars, he had achieved the rank of lieutnenant and was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic's 327th Star Corps, operating under the command of both Clone Commander Bly and Jedi General Aayla Secura.

Galle, along with the rest of his corps, was sent to the planet Felucia to battle the Separatist forces stationed there. When Supreme Chancellor Palpatine issued Order 66 to all clones, declaring all members of the Jedi Order as traitors to the Republic, Galle was with Secura and Bly at the front of a Republic vehicle column, preparing to engage the incoming Separatist forces. Galle and his fellow troopers then turned their weapons on Secura, shooting her in the back and killing her.

Personality and traits

Like all clones derived from Jango Fett's DNA, Galle's height was 1.83 meters.

Equipment

During his time on Felucia, Galle was equipped with Phase II clone trooper armor, complete with a pauldron and a kama. These were colored in the distinctive yellow markings of the 327th Star Corps. His weaponry included a DC-15A blaster carbine and two DC-17 hand blasters, which he kept in holsters attached to his utility belt.

Behind the scenes

Galle's initial appearance was in the 2005 prequel trilogy movie, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. Within the current Star Wars canon, Galle's identity was first established on a card released through the Star Wars: Card Trader app. The character originally comes from Star Wars Legends, where he was initially created for the webstrip, Reversal of Fortune, by Paul Ens and Tom Hodges, which began publication in 2004. A mistake appears in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary, New Edition, where an image of Galle is incorrectly identified as Clone Commander Bly.
