Jedi Academy PC

The Jedi Knight series of video games introduced us to Kyle Katarn, a Jedi Master, and his apprentice, Jaden Korr. The term "video game" encompasses any interactive game software played on a console, or any computer game relying on a video display as its primary feedback method. ## Video Game Genres - First-person shooter (FPS) games are computer or video games where the player experiences the game through the eyes of their character. These games typically involve firearms and other weapons for combat. Star Wars: Dark Forces and its sequels fall into this category, as does Star Wars: Republic Commando. For further examples, refer to Category:First-person shooters. - Flight simulators immerse players in the role of a pilot, navigating either an aircraft or spacecraft against adversaries or obstacles. Examples include the X-wing and TIE Fighter series, the Rogue Squadron series, the Starfighter series, and Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed. - Real-time strategy (RTS) games, often played on computers, present a top-down view of multiple characters controlled by the player. In these games, players typically direct groups of characters without directly engaging in combat themselves. Examples include Star Wars: Rebellion, Star Wars: Force Commander, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, and Star Wars: Empire at War. - Role-playing games (RPGs) are video or computer games that allow players to view their character from a third-person perspective and make choices that influence the story's progression. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords are examples of RPGs. They share similarities with tabletop roleplaying games. - Massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) are online games where numerous players create characters and interact with one another in a large virtual world. These games often feature diverse environments and numerous non-player characters (NPCs) to enhance the sense of realism. Examples include Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures, and Star Wars: The Old Republic. ## Star Wars Games Listed Chronologically by Release Date ### 1980s #### 1982 - The first Star Wars video game was Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
