Genetia

Genetia, a planet located within the I-14 grid square of the Standard Galactic Grid in the Expansion Region, was circled by a total of seven moons. The Genetians, a human species, inhabited this world, with those possessing Force-sensitive traits often exhibiting profound empathic abilities. Imri Cantaros's homeworld was Genetia, as was that of his father; during his childhood, he lived part of the time on Genetia, and part of the time on Hynestia, his mother's world, before eventually residing at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant throughout his youngling years. Upon witnessing the massive cruiser Steady Wing, which she and her fellow pirate Gwishi were tasked with destroying, the Nihil pirate Klinith Da used the phrase "seven Genetian moons" as an exclamation.

Behind the scenes

The planet Genetia was referenced in The High Republic: A Test of Courage, a novel from 2021 penned by Justina Ireland. Cantaros is identified as being from Genetia in chapter four of the novel. However, chapter 18 indicates that he is from Hynestia. This apparent contradiction is resolved in The High Republic: Out of the Shadows, which clarifies that Cantaros' father originated from Genetia, while his mother was from Hynestia, and that he spent time on both planets before being discovered by the Jedi Order.
