The Golden Destiny constituted a political group within the Lost Tribe of Sith, situated on the Wild Space planet of Kesh. This faction arose during the Time of the Rot, a period that concluded in 3000 BBY. The group's primary focus was on the stellar aspects of the Tribe's past, advocating for a renewed connection with the Kesh Sith Temple and a return to exploring the stars. Furthermore, the Golden Destiny held Yaru Korsin, the Tribe's founder, in high regard as a "great conqueror," believing their ancestors possessed exceptional power. Members of this faction were easily identifiable by their distinctive golden tunics.
In the year 3000 BBY, the leader of the Golden Destiny was present at the pivotal Pantheon's Peace event. It was during this gathering that the Testament of Yaru Korsin was presented to the Tribe's leadership. On that fateful Testament Day, the leaders of the Sith factions discovered a shocking truth: their ancestors were not "special" but were, in fact, slaves serving the Sith Lord Naga Sadow. These revelations shattered the Golden Destiny's deeply held beliefs about their ancestors' supposed power and status. The Testament's unveiling also ignited a series of intense and violent riots, collectively known as the Great Crisis. This period saw the various factions clashing with one another, ultimately leading to their fragmentation as individual Sith engaged in infighting.
Subsequently, Edell Vrai, a young and progressive member of the Golden Destiny with a talent for mathematics, allied himself with several of the faction's former adversaries, including Korsin Bentado and Neera. Together, they sought to destroy the Omen, the ancient Sith starship that had transported the Tribe's ancestors to Kesh. Disillusioned by their newfound knowledge of the Tribe's true history, these Sith viewed the Omen as a symbol of their "inglorious past" and believed it needed to be eliminated. However, their plans were thwarted by the Caretaker and historian Varner Hilts, who revealed a map confirming the existence of another continent known as Alanciar or "Keshtah Major". As a result, the warring Sith factions ceased their hostilities and elected Hilts as their new Grand Lord, effectively bringing an end to the Time of the Rot. Edell Vrai was the first to pledge his loyalty to Hilts, later becoming his chief engineer and leading the Tribe's expeditions to reach and explore Alanciar in 2975 BBY.
The Golden Destiny placed a strong emphasis on the stellar aspects of the Tribe's origins. They revered the Tribe's founder, Yaru Korsin, as a "great conqueror" and firmly believed that the Tribe's Sith ancestors were "powerful people." They maintained that the Tribe's arrival on Kesh was not intentional. Adherents of the Golden Destiny believed that the Tribe needed to reorganize itself to return to the Kesh Sith Temple and rediscover interstellar travel. They speculated that Humans were a superior race in the galaxy and that each Human was destined to rule their own planetary kingdom. Members of the Golden Destiny were easily identified by their golden-colored tunics. While they held the Testament of Yaru Korsin in high regard, they did not adhere to the political structure outlined by Korsin. This put them at odds with the Korsinite League, which modeled itself after Yaru Korsin and his daughter Nida Korsin.
The Golden Destiny was one of the twenty Sith factions that emerged on Kesh during the Time of the Rot, a period of instability and unrest lasting 960 years, following the death of Grand Lord Lillia Venn in 3960 BBY. For centuries, the continent of Keshtah Minor, the Tribe's primary territory, was ravaged by conflicts between rival Sith factions vying for leadership of the Tribe. In 3000 BBY, the leader of the Golden Destiny attended the Testament Day where a reading of Yaru Korsin's Testament was presented to the assembled Sith factions. Korsin himself had recorded this Testimony in a holocron before his death in 4975 BBY. The Golden Destiny leader disagreed with the Korsinite League leader Korsin Bentado's belief that the Tribe should emulate Yaru Korsin's teachings regarding the Tribe's structure.
During that year's Pantheon's Peace, the Caretaker Varner Hilts discovered an earlier recording hidden beneath Korsin's Testament. The assembled Sith delegates soon learned that their revered founder, Korsin, was merely a slave to the ancient Sith Lord Naga Sadow, one of the last rulers of the Sith Empire. Instead of being great "conquerors," the Tribe's ancestors were actually slaves of Naga Sadow, sent to extract Lignan ores from Phaegon III. This revelation effectively debunked the long-held popular myth that the Tribe's ancestors had been "great conquerors" in the past. Despite attempts to conceal the Tribe's "inglorious history," news of their true origins spread among the various Sith factions. This ignited a series of riots and homicidal killings known as the Great Crisis, which led to the destruction of several cities across Keshtah Minor.
The Golden Destiny engaged in battles with several other Sith factions, including the Korsinite League, Sisters of Seelah, and Force 57, before succumbing to internal divisions themselves. Later, several surviving members of the Golden Destiny, led by the mathematician and engineer Edell Vrai, joined forces with other Sith factions to destroy the Omen, the ancient Sith starship that had brought the Lost Tribe's ancestors to Kesh. Vrai justified his plans by arguing that the ship was merely a "carrier for chattle" and sought to purge this "inglorious history" from the Tribe's memories. Vrai and Bentado believed that the Tribe, which had been reduced to a few thousand members, was destined for extinction. However, they were willing to collaborate one last time.
The Sith attempted to destroy the Omen by collapsing the Kesh Sith Temple's tower onto the chamber housing the starship. However, they were stopped by Varner Hilts, his Keshiri assistant Jaye Vuhld, and Iliana Merko, the former leader of the Sisters of Seelah. Hilts revealed that Korsin possessed a secret that could save the Tribe from destruction: a map confirming the existence of a second continent known as Alanciar, or Keshtah Major. Hilts successfully united the various Sith by convincing them to work together to reach and conquer this new continent. Edell Vrai and his fellow Golden Destiny members crowned Hilts as their new Grand Lord, bringing an end to the Time of the Rot. The other Sith also submitted to Hilts and pledged their allegiance to him.
The Golden Destiny emerged as the largest faction to survive the great crisis. They quickly allied themselves with Grand Lord Hilts and joined his new government. The mathematician Edell Vrai was placed in charge of the Tribe's efforts to develop a means of transport capable of reaching Keshtah Major. After twenty-five years of experimentation and research, Vrai successfully constructed a fleet of airships powered by hydrogen extracted from the volcano Sessal Spire. This enabled the Lost Tribe to travel to Keshtah Minor. While the Tribe's invasion of Alanciar was initially repelled by the Alanciari Keshiri, the Tribe managed to manipulate the Alanciari man Jogan Halder into convincing the Alanciar that the Tribe posed no threat and were, in fact, their mythical Protectors.
