The Governor's Mesa existed within Desix City, the capital of the planet Desix. The mesa served as the foundation for the old Desix Bell Tower, making it a strategically advantageous site for the home of Governor Tawni Ames.
Governor Ames declared her world's separation from the Galactic Empire in the early days of 18 BBY, holding the recently designated Imperial Governor Grotton as a prisoner inside the bell tower. This act triggered a swift reaction from the Imperial Military, resulting in Vice Admiral Edmon Rampart assigning Clone Commander Crosshair and Clone Marshal Commander Cody the mission of heading a rescue unit to penetrate the Governor's Mesa and free the captives. Although a Nu-class attack/transport shuttle was shot down by a Desix air strike team, and the team suffered significant losses, Cody and Crosshair managed to get to Ames and Grotton, and ultimately executed the rebellious Governor, thereby establishing Imperial control over the planet.
