Hall of Assembly

The Hall of Assembly, a building with a spherical design and a framework constructed from mirrored surfaces, was situated on the Inner Rim planet of Pijal. Its construction commenced sometime between 48 BBY and 40 BBY, with the intention of housing the Assembly, which was to be Pijal's new representative governing body.

However, in 40 BBY, the Hall of Assembly met its end through destruction at the hands of blackguard soldiers. These soldiers were secretly taking orders from Pijali Princess Fanry and royal guard captain Deren. The princess aimed to prevent the signing of the Governance Treaty, an initiative that would establish the Assembly and significantly diminish the power of the Pijali monarchy. Afterwards, security cameras captured nanotech progressively breaking down the Hall of Assembly from the inside. A recording of this attack was then presented to Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, as they were investigating the recent turmoil on Pijal.

Description

Found on the Inner Rim planet of Pijal, the Hall of Assembly was built. This spherical structure, designed in a traditional style, incorporated a framework of mirrored surfaces. The intention was for the building to appear almost invisible until Pijal's setting sun brightly illuminated it each evening. Security cameras were installed within the building. Despite nearing completion by 40 BBY, the Hall of Assembly experienced destruction during that year, resulting in the disintegration of its mirrored elements.

History

Sometime between 48 BBY and 40 BBY, construction began on the Hall of Assembly on Pijal, with the purpose of serving as the headquarters for the Assembly, the proposed new representative government of Pijal. As the coronation of Pijali Princess Fanry approached in 40 BBY, Rael Averross, Pijal's lord regent, began collaborating with the Czerka Corporation on the Governance Treaty initiative. This treaty aimed to transform the reigning Pijali monarchy into a relatively powerless constitutional monarchy by transferring power to the Assembly.

The Hall of Assembly was intended to serve as headquarters for Pijal's Assembly following its formation.

Blackguard soldiers from Pijal, secretly under the command of royal guard captain Deren and Fanry—who wanted to avoid signing the treaty and maintain her power as ruler—employed nanotech to dissolve the mirrors that formed the Hall of Assembly's framework. Each panel first became cloudy, then gray, and finally crumbled into dust. The attack on the building was one of many in a campaign to incite unrest in the Pijal system before the scheduled signing of the Governance Treaty. Although many Pijali were perplexed by the event's aftermath, security camera footage from the structure later revealed how nanotech had eroded the building from within.

The Opposition—a political performance group known for protesting the Governance Treaty—was initially blamed for the incident. Deren kept a recording of the event. Some days later, Deren provided the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, with the holographic recording of the Hall of Assembly's destruction while they were investigating the recent disturbances on Pijal. Eventually, after Fanry's failed attempt to crown herself queen during her violent coronation, the Opposition was exonerated of blame for the attack on the Hall of Assembly and other incidents.
