Heldi Cerebron held a leadership position as one of three individuals guiding the Final Occultation, a cult devoted to the dark side and steeped in anarchy. Around the period spanning from 40 BBY to 32 BBY, she, her fellow leaders, and numerous followers were apprehended and placed aboard a transport destined for a [prison](/article/prison] planet. However, they successfully staged a mutiny, overpowering their captors and abandoning the starship adrift in space, choosing instead to initiate a ritual aimed at creating a portal to madness.
When Darth Maul, the Sith apprentice, arrived aboard the ship with the intention of recapturing Cerebron and her cohorts, he came across many members of the crew who had fallen victim to spores released by Cerebron. Subsequently, he encountered Cerebron herself, who then employed the spores to manipulate the mind of the Sith. Despite enduring disturbing visions, Maul drew upon his training, launching his lightsaber at Cerebron, resulting in her death.

As a member of an alien species, Heldi Cerebron belonged to the dark side cult known as the Final Occultation, serving as one of its three leaders along with Vasik Aldritch and another being who identified as an "emissary of chaos." The cult's objective was to sow anarchy, drawing power from the chaotic energies emanating from the Netherworld of the Force.
The group became aware of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious and his apprentice Darth Maul, desiring to expose them and seize their power. However, before they could act, Cerebron, the other leaders, and numerous cult members were captured, but not without significant resistance to the arresting officers. They were then transported on a transport to a [prison](/article/prison] planet sometime between approximately 40 BBY and 32 BBY. After being confined, they commenced a summoning ritual on the vessel intended to manipulate the ship's hypermatter particles, creating a rift to madness instead of initiating a jump to hyperspace.

Following the transport's entry into lightspeed, the members of the Final Occultation revolted against their captors, leaving the starship adrift and unresponsive in space. Cerebron used spores she emitted to leave many of the ship's crew red-[eyed](/article/eye] on the floor with bleeding from their mouths and noses. After attempts to contact the ship were met only with footage of the emissary of chaos, Sidious dispatched Maul to recapture Cerebron and the other cultists for interrogation. Upon boarding the transport, Maul was nearly overwhelmed by a disordered ether and quickly detected Cerebron's spores in the atmosphere, finding many of the transport's crew incapacitated. One of the crew reached out and begged Maul for help, claiming Cerebron was in all the crews' heads.
Cerebron floated down the corridor toward Maul as the crewmember continued crying out, reaching out her arm and beginning to affect Maul's mind as well. The Sith experienced visions of a large tentacled creature attempting to devour him, with Cerebron and Sidious also present. However, Maul invoked his Sith training to prioritize order over chaos, thus overcoming Cerebron's influence.

This allowed Maul to launch his lightsaber at Cerebron, bisecting her vertically and killing her. With the end of her spores and influence, Maul and the crew member recovered. Without further aiding the crew member, Maul then continued his mission and killed Aldritch before eliminating the remaining cult members and stopping the summoning ritual by crashing the ship into a nearby ice planet to destroy them entirely. Upon reporting their demise to Sidious, Maul claimed that whatever chaos Cerebron and the others had shared with him would remained buried on the frozen world.
Heldi Cerebron possessed the power to influence the minds of others and induce bleeding in her victims through foul-tasting spores expelled from two openings beneath her large, exposed brain. She levitated as she moved and was red in color, belonging to a species characterized by numerous tendrils at the base of their torsos and at the ends of their two arms.
Heldi Cerebron made her initial appearance and was identified in the first issue of the 2024 comic anthology miniseries Star Wars: Darth Maul – Black, White & Red. The issue was penned by Benjamin Percy, illustrated by Stefano Raffaele, and published by Marvel Comics on April 24, 2024.
