Jayhold Beehaz functioned as the commandant of the Aldhani Garrison for the Galactic Empire. This officer of the Imperial Military was based at the Aldhani dam and the Alkenzi Air Base, both situated on the world of Aldhani.

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, Jayhold Beehaz served. By 5 BBY, he had been the commandant of the Aldhani Garrison on Aldhani for a certain time. While a rebel mission on Aldhani was underway, Commandant Beehaz played host to Colonel Soden Petigar, an Imperial engineer hailing from Coruscant. The garrison was in the process of relocating the Alkenzi Air Base to a spot nearer to the Imperial headquarters at the dam. Beehaz's family included his wife, Roboda Beehaz, and his son, Leonart Beehaz, and they lived with him at the base. Shortly before the Eye of Aldhani event, Beehaz, along with his family and Petigar, were taken as hostages by the Aldhani rebel infiltration team, and Petigar was killed. Beehaz eventually became exhausted and collapsed while being forced to load stolen credits onto the Max-7 Rono box freighter at gunpoint, which led to the heist team's discovery.
Jayhold was a human male who had fair skin and dark eyes. By 5 BBY, his black hair was graying and he was balding. He was overweight and physically unfit for even minor labor, which resulted in his failing health and eventual death. Jayhold held the native Dhanis in contempt, viewing them as simple-minded and overly proud, which he believed was to their own detriment, as they were unwilling to accept change but easily manipulated. He longed to leave Aldhani behind and abandon the rituals and traditions of the people, in which he had long participated with reluctance. He was strict with his family and expected them to adhere to the Empire's traditions and formalities, even if it caused them discomfort. Nevertheless, he did care for them, as he cooperated with the rebel infiltration team out of concern for their safety.

Beehaz's uniform differed from standard Imperial officer uniforms. He wore a modified double-breasted tunic paired with black boots, a belt, and a kepi cap. The tunic featured an extended skirt, black epaulets, and a black collar. The sleeves were also black instead of the usual cloth, extending slightly past the wrist. On the day of the Eye of Aldhani, Beehaz adorned his uniform with ceremonial items, including a ceremonial belt and sash with black and white stripes, as well as a black cape with silver collar pins and silver epaulets. He possessed two kepi caps, one with a black visor featuring two white horizontal stripes. As a commandant in the Imperial Military, he utilized a single-rowed rank insignia plaque displaying four blue tiles followed by two red tiles.
The first glimpse of Jayhold Beehaz was in the teaser trailer for the Andor television series, which was made public on May 26, 2022. His first appearance was in "The Eye," the sixth episode of the series, which was broadcast on October 12, 2022. Stanley Townsend played him.
The Cruachan Dam and the surrounding mountains in the Scottish Highlands served as the filming locations for the Aldhani scenes. According to Faye Marsay, the actress who played Vel Sartha, the scenes were filmed during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Originally, the episode "The Eye" was intended to open with a speech by Beehaz, which would establish the Imperials on the planet as arrogant and oppressive towards the natives. The speech was also intended to eliminate any reservations the audience might have about the Aldhani rebels pointing blasters at the officers' heads. The weather in Scotland was unfavorable during the shooting of the scene, but the crew decided to embrace the Akira Kurosawa aesthetic. The crew felt that the scene of Karis Nemik telling Cassian Andor he could not sleep would not work after Beehaz's scene because it felt dreamier and did not feel like it felt in the script. A suggestion was made to move Nemik and Andor's scene to the beginning, and the two scenes were ultimately swapped.
