Jedi Mind Trick (cocktail)

The Jedi Mind Trick, named after the Jedi's mind trick Force ability, was a aqua-colored cocktail available at Oga's Cantina. This establishment was located on the Outer Rim planet of Batuu. During 34 ABY, the Resistance spy Vi Moradi purchased this drink for Archex, her companion. Additionally, the historian Eloc Throno mentioned the Jedi Mind Trick as one of the beverages served at the Batuu cantina in his guidebook, Traveler's Guide to Batuu.

Description

This aqua-colored and alcoholic beverage, the Jedi Mind Trick, was consumable by humans and known for its intoxicating effects. The cocktail was characterized by a changing flavor as it was consumed. Though it shared a name with a Force ability of the same name used by the Jedi, no Force powers were needed to enjoy the drink.

History

Jedi Mind Tricks were served in Oga's Cantina (pictured).

During the war between the First Order and the Resistance, specifically by 34 ABY, the Jedi Mind Trick was a menu item offered to patrons of Oga's Cantina, situated in Black Spire Outpost on the Outer Rim planet of Batuu.

In that year, Vi Moradi, a Resistance spy, opted for a non-alcoholic Blurrgfire to remain clear-headed. However, she purchased a Jedi Mind Trick, a more potent beverage, for Archex, her former First Order associate. Moradi found amusement in Archex's resulting intoxication and his attempts to flirt with their waitress. Even after leaving the cantina, Archex's speech remained slurred from the drink's effects. The historian Eloc Throno, in his guidebook Traveler's Guide to Batuu authored around that time, briefly mentioned the Jedi Mind Trick's unique flavor-changing properties, noting its potential to bewilder the drinker, and suggested Oga's Cantina as a must-visit location for those new to Batuu.

Behind the scenes

The alcoholic Jedi Mind Trick was first introduced to the public at Oga's Cantina, a bar within the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge themed area, when it opened in Disneyland Park on May 31, 2019. The drink was initially unveiled during a large promotional event for the park on February 26 of that same year. The menu description at the cantina lists the ingredients as "Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit & Rose Vodka, John D. Taylor's Velvet Falernum, Bols Blue Curaçao Liqueur, White Grape Juice, Lime Juice, and Grapefruit Bitters."
