Jobril

Jobril, a male Twi'lek (see: gender), served as Nirama's properties master on the planet Cularin.

Biography

For numerous years, Jobril had been in the service of Nirama's Organization. The Twi'lek sought to demonstrate his unwavering dependability to his superior. To that end, Jobril requested that Nirama arrange for the surgical implantation of a special loyalty microchip into his brain stem. Nirama consented, trusting Jobril not only because of the chip itself, but also due to the inherent loyalty that would prompt such a request.

From that point forward, Nirama placed complete trust in Jobril, convinced that he was "incapable of betrayal." Jobril consistently displayed a stern and resolute demeanor whenever Nirama tasked him with a duty.

In 31 BBY, Nirama instructed Jobril to transport a group of freelancers from Cularin to the Cularin asteroid belt. Among the passengers were individuals who claimed to be heroes, whom Nirama had a particular assignment for, as well as a petty criminal named Jasper, included to give the appearance of a routine recruitment operation.

During the voyage, Jobril's transport, despite bearing Nirama's insignia, came under attack by three pirates piloting G-59 Cannibalizers. With the assistance of the recruits (excluding Jasper), Jobril successfully repelled the attackers and completed his mission.

One month later, Nirama dispatched Jobril to recruit the same individuals once more. This time, however, it was not for their skills, but because Nirama believed they were being targeted by the anti-Nirama organization known as the Cell, and he wished to monitor them.

Shortly thereafter, Jobril's microchip was removed, seemingly by a faction of the Cell led by Ari Melast, one of Nirama's trusted lieutenants. The Cell deceived Jobril, leading him to believe that Nirama's former protocol droid, N3-A2, was still a trustworthy ally, when in reality it was a tool of the Cell in a scheme to undermine Nirama. Jobril was ordered to recruit independent agents again for a supposed secret mission for Nirama and escort them to the Organization's primary weapon storage facility, Rothe Gate. Jobril was only given the information he needed to know.

Falsely assuming that Nirama was aware of the situation, Jobril commandeered (stole) one of Nirama's personal ships and transported the agents to Rothe Gate, where they were to meet with N3-A2. Jobril then proceeded with his own agenda, loading his ship with illicit weapons.

Meanwhile, Nirama, having received no further communication from Jobril, presumed that his properties master had been killed. However, the Oblee informed him that Jobril had taken one of his ships to Rothe Gate with new personnel. Nirama acted swiftly, arriving at Rothe Gate within hours to demand answers. He apprehended several Cell sympathizers and interrogated them specifically about Jobril, but they provided no useful information.

The following year, Old Ezil, a purveyor of rumors, stated that Jobril was "no longer around," implying that the Twi'lek was either dead or presumed to be dead.

Personality and traits

Jobril possessed unwavering loyalty to his chief, the crime lord Nirama, both with and without the loyalty microchip implanted in his body. Following the removal of the microchip, Jobril had to be deliberately misled in order to act against Nirama's interests—although some attributed this to the influence of the Force.

Nirama reciprocated this loyalty by placing his trust in Jobril and going to great lengths for his employee. When Jobril disappeared, Nirama assumed he had been killed, having no reason to suspect betrayal. Upon discovering a clue regarding Jobril's whereabouts, Nirama pursued it and took significant action. He captured prisoners and questioned them first about Jobril's fate, even though other matters were more pressing.

Jobril was known for his serious and dour demeanor, which seemed to be a side effect of the loyalty microchip. Once it was removed, he transformed into a jovial individual who frequently displayed his pointed teeth in smiles. However, this change had little impact on his efficiency.
