Ke Daiv

Ke Daiv, existing in the final years of the Galactic Republic, was a Blood Carver assassin of the male persuasion. Employed by Wilhuff Tarkin after being exiled by his own people, he gained the dubious honor of becoming the "first personal kill" of Anakin Skywalker in 29 BBY. At the time, Skywalker was a 12-year-old Jedi Padawan on a mission to Zonama Sekot alongside his Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Biography

Daiv, an individual who was orphaned, found himself incorporated into the family of a Blood Carver clan, one of the last of its kind. The leader of the clan instructed Daiv to accompany his benefactor's son on a ritual feragriff hunt on one of Coruscant's moons, despite a prophecy foretelling the young man's death from a head injury. Through an accidental shot to the head, Daiv inadvertently caused the death of the young Blood Carver, resulting in his banishment from the tribe.

Skywalker stands over Daiv's body in shock.

Dissident elements within the Trade Federation engaged Daiv to assassinate Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker in retribution for Anakin's involvement in the Battle of Naboo. During a Pit race held in the Wicko District Garbage Pit in 29 BBY, he came dangerously close to ending Anakin's life. However, Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Knight and Anakin's mentor, intervened at the last moment, thwarting Daiv's assassination attempt. Daiv narrowly escaped the encounter, surviving by a thread. Following his failed assassination attempt in the garbage pit, Wilhuff Tarkin dispatched him to Zonama Sekot alongside Raith Sienar, issuing orders to eliminate Sienar should he deviate from Tarkin's strategy. However, Sienar successfully persuaded Daiv to disregard Tarkin's directives, instead tasking him with procuring one of Zonama Sekot's organic starships. After being rejected by the Seed-partners, he resorted to kidnapping Skywalker and a young native girl named Jabitha. He threatened Jabitha's life to coerce Skywalker into taking him aboard his own Sekotan starship. During this period, Tarkin initiated an assault on the planet. Daiv compelled Skywalker to fly to the Magister's Palace to replenish the ship's fuel. It was there that Skywalker, unarmed, used the raw power of the Force to kill Daiv, an act that he would later come to regret.
