Keaton Murag was a Jedi Master of the human species who lived during the High Republic Era. He held the position of marshal at the Naboo temple. While stationed on Naboo, he rescued numerous people during a mining disaster, resulting in him gaining the esteem of the Naboo monarchy, even though Murag minimized his part in the heroic act. Reports from those who survived the incident claim that Murag, acting alone, used the Force to hold back the force of an explosion, providing an opportunity for miners to flee. Shortly before the occurrence of the Great Hyperspace Disaster in 232 BBY, Murag was promoted to the Jedi High Council. Murag himself was present within the Jedi Council Chamber when the Council gathered to deliberate on whether or not to join forces with the Galactic Republic to combat the Nihil marauder group. Following ten votes from the eleven Masters present, the vote was deadlocked, and Master Jora Malli was left to cast the deciding vote. Malli chose for the Order to join the Republic Defense Coalition in their fight against the Nihil.
