Kedpin Shoklop, an individual of the Wermal species and male gender, dedicated one hundred and two years of his life to the profession of vaporator sales at VaporTech. As a reward for being named Vaporator Salesbeing of the Year, he received a complimentary trip to Canto Bight, a city renowned for its casino. This marked his inaugural vacation in a century. Upon his arrival, he found himself spending an evening in the company of the criminal Anglang Lehet.
Shoklop's birth occurred on the planet Werma Lesser. Subsequently, he gained employment at VaporTech, where he dedicated one hundred and two years to the sale of vaporators.
For many decades, Kedpin diligently strived to earn the title of "Vaporator Salesbeing of the Year" at Vaportech, but his efforts were consistently unsuccessful. He discovered that the award recipients were typically members of upper management or favored employees. In the year 34 ABY, he made the decision to infiltrate the computer system responsible for selecting the competition winners, manipulating it to ensure his own victory. The announcement of his win surprised everyone, and despite management's awareness of his fraudulent actions, they refrained from taking disciplinary measures, fearing that other staff members would realize the competition's unfair nature.
Kedpin's reward consisted of a fully paid two-week vacation on Cantonica, specifically in the casino-filled metropolis of Canto Bight. He felt thrilled by the prospect, as he would finally have the opportunity to pursue long-held desires, such as experiencing a zero-g massage and, most importantly, witnessing a live fathier race, something he had only previously seen on screens.

Kedpin, possessing a naturally courteous and overly trusting nature, encountered difficulties from the moment he arrived on Canto Bight. Initially, he faced potential detention for lacking a sponsor chip, followed by the impoundment of his luggage due to the absence of a luggage pass, which later proved to be a scam that resulted in his luggage being stolen. He also placed his trust in a deceitful droid who defrauded him of his money in a bathhouse. Eventually, he managed to reach his hotel, where he was able to unwind for a few hours in his room and at another spa, finally indulging in a zero-g massage.
Later that day, he was approached by two identical-looking individuals who attempted to deceive him by claiming there was an issue with his hotel room. At that moment, a Caskadag named Anglang Lehet intervened, warning him of their scam. Anglang suggested they grab a drink, an offer Kedpin gladly accepted as a token of appreciation for his assistance. Unaware of Anglang's ulterior motives, they enjoyed drinks in a bar, where Anglang secretly slipped a detonator into Kedpin's beverage and planted fake spice on his back, subsequently contacting the CBPD. Shortly after Anglang excused himself, claiming he had business to attend to, the CBPD raided the bar and apprehended Kedpin for spice smuggling.
Kedpin was brought to the CBPD headquarters, where he underwent interrogation by a physically imposing police officer named Officer Brawg. Despite Kedpin's innocence, Brawg subjected him to physical abuse and demanded he reveal the name of his accomplice. Realizing he had been framed, possibly by someone he had encountered earlier in the day, he refused to betray anyone. He awoke the following day in a cell, realizing he must have lost consciousness. He overheard a conversation between Brawg and Anglang, who had arrived to release him.
Upon exiting the station, Anglang confessed that he had attempted to assassinate him by placing a detonator inside his body, with the intention of killing Officer Brawg, who was the target of numerous individuals. As they proceeded down an alleyway, they were ambushed by the Old City Boys, the group that had hired Anglang, who sought to eliminate him for failing to complete the job. The group allowed Kedpin to escape, but as he fled, he heard the sounds of the ensuing conflict. Realizing that Anglang was losing and that he had saved him despite attempting to kill him, Kedpin charged back into the alley and attempted to fight, only to be knocked back. However, his actions provided a brief distraction, allowing Anglang to seize a stun stick from one of the group and incapacitate the remaining members. Anglang then stole their money and shared a portion of it with Kedpin.
Following a chaotic start to his vacation, Kedpin was finally able to relax and enjoy himself. Using the money he received from Anglang, the pair attended a fathier race, where Kedpin placed a bet on a fathier named Kessel Runner. The fathier secured a narrow victory, and Kedpin realized he had won the equivalent of an entire year's salary. The two decided to celebrate in a more expensive bar, where Kedpin gave half of his winnings to Anglang to help cover his bail and confessed to rigging the competition. Shortly thereafter, they parted ways.
Kedpin later appeared in the casino, where he attempted to play zinbiddle after receiving instruction from Kaljach Sonmi, but he was unsuccessful.
The character of Kedpin Shoklop was initially presented concurrently in the short stories "Rules of the Game" and "The Ride" from the Canto Bight novella collection. In addition to portraying Wodibin, Star Wars veteran Warwick Davis made a cameo appearance as Shoklop in the scenes set at Zord's Spa and Bathhouse in the 2017 film Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi, but these scenes were ultimately removed from the final cut of the film. They were subsequently included in the Blu-ray and digital releases.
