Kullgroon, a planet situated within the Expansion Region, served as the location for an outpost where droids underwent repairs. During the Galactic Empire's reign, the Empire subjected the Petrusians to enslavement, compelling them to labor at the outpost. Among these enslaved individuals was Rythus, the father of the freedom fighter Kristiss. Subsequently, Kristiss enlisted the services of smuggler Lando Calrissian to smuggle weaponry to the Petrusians residing on Kullgroon, aiming to facilitate their liberation. Lando's journey took him through the Wastelands of Kullgroon, where he was apprehended by the planet's outlaws. However, he successfully escaped and assumed leadership of the Petrusian revolt.

This frigid planet called Kullgroon, found in the Expansion Region, is characterized by its numerous mountains. A wasteland area on the planet featured scattered wreckage of downed ships, alongside the remains of both battle droids and clone troopers. The Empire established an outpost there, forcing enslaved Petrusians to repair droids.
Two distinct, yet unidentified creatures called Kullgroon home. A sizable, red-skinned creature dwelled beneath the planet's surface. Furthermore, small, blue-skinned, spider-like creatures inhabited Kullgroon's sewer systems, possessing the ability to regenerate after destruction. A significantly larger variant of these creatures existed, although they were less prevalent than their smaller counterparts.

During the Imperial Era, Kullgroon was under Imperial control. As part of their occupation, the Galactic Empire constructed an outpost on the planet. At this outpost, enslaved Petrusians were compelled to repair damaged droids. Kristiss then contracted Lando Calrissian and his droid companion, L3-37, to smuggle in weapons, with the aim of enabling her people to rebel against the Empire. Lando, L3, and Kristiss journeyed through the planet's wastelands to reach the outpost. Batalla and his outlaw band from the wastelands captured Lando, while Kristiss and L3 were apprehended by Imperial forces. Kristiss was forced to labor at the outpost alongside the other Petrusians, while L3 managed to escape Imperial custody. Lando attempted to flee from Batalla, but was recaptured and made to fight in an arena. L3 returned to the Millennium Falcon and rescued Lando. Lando then proceeded back to the outpost, where he inspired the enslaved Petrusians to join his cause. They initially used melee weapons to break free from the outpost, after which L3 provided them with blasters to fight back. Kristiss reprogrammed the repaired droids to also rebel against the Empire. With the assistance of Lando and L3, the Petrusians and the droids successfully defeated the Empire.
