Lerr Duvat, a captain in the Imperial Navy, was a male human. He commanded the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Torment when the Galactic Empire was heavily defeated by the Alliance to Restore the Republic at the Battle of Endor. Not even seventeen days following the battle, Duvat received instructions to meet with a messenger at Rendezvous Point: Victim, situated in the Outer Rim Territories. After the red-robed emissary came aboard the Torment, Duvat learned that the visitor had a highly classified message, supposedly from Emperor Sheev Palpatine. Despite the Emperor's actual death during the Battle of Endor, the captain disregarded this information as enemy propaganda. Believing that he was acting on the Emperor's commands, Duvat changed course to the planet Naboo. Reaching the orbit of Naboo, Duvat's ship launched a climate disruption array to scour Naboo's surface with powerful storms and hurricanes. Ultimately, Lando Calrissian and the Restoration engaged his vessel in combat, forcing him to retreat from Naboo.
