Leviathan

The Leviathan, a vessel of the Imperial-class Star Destroyer type, saw action with the Imperial Navy during the age known as the Imperial Era. On one occasion, it accompanied the Imperial war minister to an Imperial supply moon, along with another Imperial Star Destroyer. This group came under attack from rebel starfighters. Although Imperial TIE fighters were able to defeat the rebel forces, more rebels in X-wing starfighters pursued the war minister to the supply moon.

After the rebels launched an assault on a starfighter factory located on the moon, they faced opposition from Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader. Vader overcame the majority of the rebels before chasing the last starfighter to a rebel outpost situated on Jamiri. Vader, having made contact with the Leviathan, then initiated an attack on the base, supported by the Star Destroyer and a complement of TIE fighters.

Description

The Leviathan was a starship measuring 1,600 meters in length, classified as an Imperial-class Star Destroyer. This vessel was furnished with sublight engines, a hangar bay, a pair of deflector shield generator domes, and a communications tower. The Leviathan could transmit encrypted coordinates to Imperial TIE fighters.

History

TIE fighters engaged rebels above the Leviathan and another Star Destroyer.

During the Imperial Era, the Leviathan was an active component of the Imperial Navy. On one occasion, the [Imperial war minister](/article/unidentified_imperial_minister] was transported to an Imperial supply moon as part of a convoy consisting of the Leviathan and another Imperial-class Star Destroyer. En route to the moon, while in deep space, the Imperials were subjected to an attack from a squad of rebel T-65 X-wing starfighters as well as BTL-A4 Y-wing assault starfighter/bombers. As TIE/ln starfighters battled the rebels, an individual serving aboard the Leviathan inquired with the TIE commander regarding the status of the attackers. The TIE pilot reported the complete destruction of the rebel force, prompting the individual on the Leviathan to remark that the attack had caused a delay in the war minister's departure. Subsequently, the pilot was instructed to escort the minister to the supply moon, and encrypted coordinates were transmitted with an urging to expedite the journey.

The Leviathan attacked the rebel outpost at Jamiri.

The TIE fighters then took position to protect the minister's Lambda-class shuttle. However, Imperial sensors had failed to identify several powered-down X-wing starfighters that attached a tracking device to the group and shadowed them to the supply moon using minimal power. The rebels then initiated an attack on a starfighter factory on the moon, resulting in the killing of the minister. However, Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader, who was present to oversee enhancements to his TIE Advanced x1 on the moon, engaged the rebel force in his starfighter. Piloting his TIE Advanced, Vader eliminated all but one of the starfighters, whose pilot escaped the moon. Pursuing the X-wing, Vader contacted the Leviathan. The pilot had retreated to the rebel outpost on Jamiri, which then came under attack by Vader, the Leviathan, and a number of TIE fighters and TIE interceptors. The assault resulted in the destruction of the outpost's hangar, which was engulfed in flames.

Commanders and crew

An individual serving on the Leviathan contacted a TIE commander to inquire about the status of the rebel attackers. When the pilot questioned the small size of the attacking force, the individual on the Leviathan quipped that rebels wouldn't be rebels if they were smart. The TIE pilot was then ordered to escort the delayed war minister to the supply moon with all possible speed.
