Star Wars: Lost Tribe of the Sith – Spiral 3 represents the third installment within the Star Wars: Lost Tribe of the Sith comic book saga, and also the third part of the Spiral story arc, penned by John Jackson Miller. The narrative of these comics unfolds around the year 2974 BBY, occurring approximately a year or less following the events depicted in the ebook Pandemonium.
The unsealing of the Sith Lord Baron Dreypa has stirred a Sith insurgent's aspirations to topple the established hierarchy of a secluded Sith tribe, though not precisely in the manner he envisioned, with himself at the helm... Regardless, Dreypa's assault on the princess's residence has ushered in liberation for the Sith tribe's underprivileged! Confined, the princess endeavors to break free, aiming to thwart the offensive and somehow forestall the reawakening of Dreypa's age-old dormant legion!
Parlan Spinner, the central character, alongside the Keshiri members of the Southern Star, swear their loyalty to Baron Remulus Dreypa, a Dark Jedi who had been entombed for four millennia inside an oubliette. The Sith princess, Takara Hilts, and Kaliska, the leader of the Doomed, are incarcerated in the ship's lower levels. The Southern Star journeys back towards Keshtah Minor, making landfall at the harbor of Eorm. Spinner reflects upon the ramifications of his ancestor Ermon Parrah's deeds on his descendants, including himself. Ages ago, Parrah rebelled against the Lost Tribe of Sith's governance, striving to return to the stars. As a consequence, Parrah and his lineage were relegated to the fringes of Sith society. Spinner distinguished himself as the sole member of his line to reject this subservience and pursue his individual path.
Dreypa employs his Force powers to seize control of the town of Eorm, eliminating the oppressive local Sith Lord Galathos and his entourage. The local populace is awestruck by Dreypa's Forceful prowess, leading them to rally behind the ancient Dark Jedi. Dreypa intends to journey back to the stars and reluctantly consents to spearhead the slaves in a rebellion against the Tribe's dominion in Tahv. Concurrently, Takara and Kaliska successfully break free and commandeer the town's entire collection of uvaks, winged reptilian creatures utilized as mounts on Kesh. They make their way back to Eshkrene, where they mobilize the entirety of the Doomed community to confront Dreypa's dark side abilities.
On Keshtah Minor, Dreypa's forces clash with the Tribe's military contingent at the Marisota Floodplain. Despite some initial gains, they sustain considerable losses at the hands of the Tribe's distinguished Skyborn Rangers. Dreypa's forces fall back to the Sessal Spire, a volcanic depression situated on the southeastern periphery of Keshtah Minor. The Tribe's army, commanded by Grand Consort Iliana Hilts, the spouse of Grand Lord Varner Hilts, overtakes them. However, Dreypa utilizes his talisman to awaken several dormant Leviathan—serpentine Sithspawn capable of consuming life energies—from within the crater.
