Zander in the Lower Ring
The Lower Ring represented the shady underbelly of the Wheel, a space station that served as the home for the Freemakers, a family of scavengers. It was notorious as a haven for criminal activity, a place where illicit meetings, transactions, and brawls were commonplace. Podracing served as a popular form of entertainment among the inhabitants of the Wheel. Kordi Freemaker held a strong dislike for the Lower Ring, comparing a visit there to the experience of consuming death sticks.
On one occasion, Zander Freemaker brought his younger sibling, Rowan Freemaker, to the Lower Ring to witness podracing, hoping to lift his spirits. In the aftermath of the Escape from Cloud City, Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca made their way to the Lower Ring, seeking to enlist bounty hunters to recover his "lost treasure" from Cloud City. After multiple bounty hunters, including Dengar, Baash and Raam declined the assignment, Rowan offered his family's services in exchange for gold bars. While present on the Lower Ring, Dengar made the realization that Rowan was the same kid that Graballa the Hutt was interested in.
