Magentic was a settlement located on the celestial body of Hanoon.
Situated on Hanoon, a terraformed asteroid under the control of the Galactic Empire, was the city of Magentic. This city was comprised of elements such as a Command center, prefab shelters, and an [animal nursery](/article/animal_nursery], and it was positioned adjacent to one of the planet's canals. By the year 6 ABY, the city had been established and an Imperial fortress was constructed within its borders to ensure Imperial dominance. The residents of the city possessed a fragment of the Vor'Na'Tu, a Jedi artifact of ancient origin, which they revered as a relic. During that year, [Luke Skywalker](/article/luke_skywalker-legends], who would later found the New Jedi Order, along with his sister Leia Organa and a New Republic army, traveled to Hanoon with the goal of retrieving the Vor'Na'Tu fragments. Upon arriving at Magentic, the city's inhabitants agreed to relinquish their shard on the condition that the fortress be destroyed. Consequently, the New Republic launched an assault on the fortress, successfully neutralizing it.
The people of Magentic willingly surrendered their shard. Subsequently, Organa and Skywalker resolved to liberate the entirety of the asteroid and seized control of the Terraform Processor. Following the elimination of Moff Yittreas, Hanoon made the decision to align itself with the New Republic.
The first mention of Magentic occurred in the strategy guide associated with the video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, released in 2001. It was featured in a mission of the Princess Leia campaign, where the player's objective involved liberating the town. This mission, along with Magentic, was also included in the game's expansion pack, Clone Campaigns, which was released in 2002.
