The Maldrood sector was a region of space, specifically a sector, situated within the Mid Rim territories. Among the planets found in this sector were Centares and Nizon, both of which were part of the Centares system.
During the period of the Clone Wars, the Maldrood sector aligned itself with the Separatists.
In the aftermath of the Battle of Endor, the Maldrood sector was one of the first to break free from the control of the Empire. However, it quickly evolved into the central territory of the Greater Maldrood, an Imperial splinter group founded by High Admiral Treuten Teradoc.
Following the death of Grand Admiral Zsinj, Teradoc proclaimed himself to be the "High Admiral of the Mid Rim," placing him in the midst of a war that involved Admirals Teren Rogriss from the Empire and Ackbar from the New Republic. Ultimately, Teradoc was defeated by the forces of the New Republic, which led to him abandoning the Greater Maldrood and escaping to the Deep Core.
In the year 26 ABY, the Yuuzhan Vong successfully conquered the entire sector after a series of four engagements.
