The Jedi Knight Rissa Mano possessed a lightsaber with a blue blade, and she called it Marcie. During a heated conflict on a mission to Hissrich, Mano briefly let Mace Windu borrow Marcie, which he wielded alongside his own lightsaber to defeat a harvester.

Mano practiced deflecting blaster fire with Marcie at some point in time. In 22 BBY, Jedi Master Mace Windu selected Jedi Knight Mano, who had recently been promoted, to accompany him on an operation to the planet Hissrich, which was a jungle world. Also joining them were Jedi Council member Kit Fisto and Jedi Prosset Dibs. Mano took Marcie with her on this mission. After they arrived on the planet aboard the Westwind, a T-6 shuttle, the group journeyed west toward the Separatist outpost. On their way, the group encountered a patrol squadron belonging to the droid unit stationed on Hissrich.
The 2017 comic series Star Wars: Jedi of the Republic – Mace Windu featured Marcie's debut in its first issue. Matt Owens wrote the story, Denys Cowan provided the illustrations, and Marvel Comics published it on August 30, 2017. The third issue, also written by Owens and published by Marvel on October 25, 2017, later identified the lightsaber as "Marcie." In the second issue of the series, which was colored by Guru-eFX, the lightsaber was mistakenly shown with a green blade in two panels. Owens wrote the issue, Cowan illustrated it, and Marvel published it on September 27, 2017.
