The Mere Cruiser represented a heavily armed cruiser class, brought into existence by the Mere people of Maramere at an unspecified point before the outbreak of the Clone Wars.
With a length of roughly 195 meters, these compact warships were equipped with a pair of sublight drive engines. They also boasted formidable, forward-facing turbolaser cannons, complemented by a dozen light turbolasers distributed across the hull: two at the rear, four at the base, two near the front, and the remaining four positioned on the ventral side.
The Mere Resistance, under the leadership of Sol Sixxa, utilized a number of Mere cruisers in their operations. Two such cruisers, the Kethor under the command of Captain Orsai, and the Tritus, joined forces with the pirate leader Nym during his assault on Nod Kartha. In a pivotal moment during the battle, Orsai heroically piloted the crippled Kethor into the orbital shield generator, sacrificing himself to create an opening for Nym's forces to penetrate the defensive barrier.
During the First Battle of Geonosis, Nym clashed with Cavik Toth and his Sabaoth Squadron in the skies above Geonosis. The timely arrival of three Mere cruisers, captained by Juno, Antilles, and Cori, proved decisive as they unleashed their powerful weaponry upon Toth's Sabaoth Destroyers.
