Cavik Toth

A male human mercenary named Cavik Toth commanded Sabaoth Squadron and offered their services to the Confederacy of Independent Systems, thus becoming an early supporter of Count Dooku before the Clone Wars began.

Biography

Count Dooku gives instructions to Cavik Toth.

Throughout his career, Toth gained considerable tactical and combat expertise by serving in various mercenary organizations. He eventually established his own mercenary group, known as Sabaoth Squadron. Toth was given the responsibility of overseeing the trihexalon initiative, which was being conducted by a team of Neimoidian scientists under the leadership of Harro Ruuk. However, when Harro Ruuk failed to meet the project deadlines, Toth assumed complete control, using a sample of the weapon to kill Harro and two of his assistants. Upon the completion of the chemical weapon, Toth's initial field test was conducted on Point Modie, a colony situated on Maramere. The experiment was deemed successful, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of individuals. Jedi Master Adi Gallia, accompanied by Reti and Sol Sixxa, intervened to halt the demonstration before it could cause further destruction. Toth then devised a plan to deploy it against the Republic. However, Nym, the pirate captain leading the Lok Revenants, appeared at Nod Kartha and destroyed the Hex factory, bringing production to a standstill. Subsequently, Toth traveled to Lok when it came under attack from Nym's pirates, who were attempting to reclaim their planet. Although Cavik Toth managed to escape, he abandoned Bella, believing she could withstand the pirate assault while he traveled to Geonosis to assist the Confederacy of Independent Systems in their losing battle against the Republic. His assessment was incorrect, as Bella perished.

Upon his arrival at Geonosis, Toth's Hex fleet, consisting of Hex Deployers, was ambushed and decimated by a squadron of Jedi starfighters commanded by Jedi Master Adi Gallia. Toth personally led his Sabaoth Destroyers into the fray. However, the capital ship turrets on all ships were destroyed, enabling the Mere cruisers to systematically eliminate them. Soon after, he brought his flagship into the battle, but his arrogance proved to be his undoing. His ship's defenses were quickly overwhelmed, and his flagship sustained critical hull damage. Subsequently, he engaged Adi Gallia in starfighter combat.

Adi Gallia killed Cavik Toth above Geonosis while he was piloting his personal starfighter, just before his flagship exploded.

Personality and traits

Toth with a vial of trihexalon.

Toth possessed ambition and demonstrated natural leadership qualities, along with confidence as a warrior. These attributes enabled him to command a substantial mercenary force. His overconfidence and persistence ultimately contributed to his downfall. Driven primarily by financial gain, he offered his services to the highest bidder, in this instance, Count Dooku. Toth was notorious for punishing his subordinates' failures with death, as exemplified by his execution of Harro Ruuk for his tardiness in delivering the hex weapon.

Behind the scenes

Cavik Toth's debut appearance was in Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, a video game developed by LucasArts. Adrian Zmed provided the voice acting for the character, while Amy Beth Christenson contributed concept art to the character's design.

According to concept artwork created by Christenson and included as bonus content in the Jedi Starfighter game, Toth's visual appearance was partially inspired by Game Designer Tim Longo.
