Mokivj droid factory

During the Clone Wars conflict, the Confederacy of Independent Systems established a droid manufacturing plant situated on the planetary body of Mokivj. This facility was formerly dedicated to material production, but the Separatist forces repurposed it upon their arrival. Duke Solha assumed managerial control of the facility. The clandestine factory served a dual purpose, both centered on the creation of protective plating incorporating a cortosis weave, rendering it highly resistant to both lightsaber strikes and blaster fire. The primary and most apparent objective of the factory was the mass production of a cortosis-enhanced version of the Separatist Droid Army's B2 super battle droid models. A secondary, more insidious purpose involved the manufacturing of clone trooper battle armor reinforced with cortosis, intended as a backup measure for Darth Sidious and Count Dooku's planned Order 66 and the subsequent Great Jedi Purge.

The selection of the Mokivj location for the droid factory was driven by the presence of a substantial nearby deposit of cortosis, an exceptionally scarce metal. This cortosis mine served as the source of the factory's cortosis supply for a duration of several standard months.

Duja, a former attendant to Senator Padmé Amidala, discovered the Separatist's undertaking, which ultimately led to her demise. However, prior to her death, she successfully transmitted information regarding her discovery to Amidala, prompting the Senator to investigate the matter.

History

Count Dooku, the leader of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, received critical intelligence from an unidentified source detailing a rare metal capable of deflecting lightsabers, the signature weapon of the Jedi Knights and the Jedi Order, who were the Confederacy's primary adversaries during the Clone Wars. Armed with this knowledge and the established location, Dooku contacted his Sith mentor, who expressed satisfaction with the discovery. His intention was to utilize cortosis to augment the clone troopers' armor, rendering it resistant to Jedi weaponry during Order 66. Subsequently, the Serennian dispatched members of the Serennian nobility, including Duke Solha, his sibling, and sister, to the planet. There, they located a derelict, antiquated fortress. Following the fortress's repurposing, they initiated the production and manufacturing of Solha's specialized battle droid, the cortosis B2-series super battle droid, which capitalized on the metal's unique properties. The raw material was sourced from a nearby cortosis excavation site, where local miners extracted and processed the valuable metal.

Defensive Systems

Although its original function was as a fortress instead of a factory, vulture droids were stationed within the factory's perimeter, ready for deployment as aerial security.

B1-series battle droids and B2-series super battle droids—both standard models and locally produced cortosis-armored variants—were employed as security personnel within the factory complex.
