Moldour

Moldour was a planetary body situated within the Outer Rim Territories. Several moons revolved around it in orbit, one of which was Moldour 14. For multiple centuries, these moons served as hiding places for valuables by various individuals. By the time of 3 ABY, the articles of clothing known as the Moldour Thief Belt, Pants, and Vest were all being manufactured on Moldour.

Maz Kanata, the Pirate Queen, once interred a treasure vault on Moldour 14. Subsequently, Gunda Mabin, a pirate captain, journeyed there to recover it sometime between 19 BBY and 10 BBY. While in orbit around Moldour, Patchwork Fiddich, a member of Mabin's crew, initiated a failed mutiny against her. Following this, she and her crew plundered Kanata's vault, and the captain also documented their visit to Moldour in the Smuggler's Guide logbook.

Description

Moldour was a terrestrial planet found in both the Outer Rim Territories and the Slice. It was accompanied by a number of moons, including Moldour 14.

History

By the time of the Galactic Civil War, the moons of Moldour had been used for centuries by numerous people as locations to conceal their prized possessions. The Pirate Queen, Maz Kanata, once concealed a treasure vault on Moldour 14. Later, she recorded Moldour's location on a map within the logbook that would become known as the Smuggler's Guide. Sometime between 19 BBY and 10 BBY, Gunda Mabin, the Aqualish captain of the Blazing Claw pirate fleet, obtained the book and highlighted the Moldour label on its map, noting its treasure cache. Following this, she directed her starship, the Bloody Bones, to travel to Moldour's moons to retrieve the treasure.

In orbit around Moldour, Patchwork Fiddich launched an unsuccessful mutiny attempt against Captain Gunda Mabin.

Immediately after Mabin's vessel entered Moldour's orbit, the pirate Patchwork Fiddich attempted a mutiny against the captain; however, Mabin and the crew members loyal to her were victorious. After personally recovering Kanata's treasure from Moldour 14, the pirate captain had Fiddich's remains hung from a cannon on the Bloody Bones, and the vessel then departed Moldour. Mabin also included a mention of the visit to Moldour in an entry she added herself to the Smuggler's Guide.

At some point between 0 ABY and 5 ABY, the Smuggler's Guide came into the possession of Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra, an archaeologist. In an annotation to Mabin's entry, Aphra remarked on the historical practice of using Moldour's moons as locations for hidden stashes. By 3 ABY, the Moldour Thief Belt, Pants, and Vest were all clothing items that were manufactured on Moldour for use by criminals and were being sold beyond the planet.
