Monarch of Shu-Torun

The individual who held the position of king or queen within the Kingdom of Shu-Torun was known as the Monarch of Shu-Torun. This kingdom was populated by human inhabitants residing on the planet Shu-Torun, situated in the Mid Rim section of the galaxy. Similar to the hereditary system of the ore-dukes among the nobility, the monarchy operated through a line of inheritance, where the firstborn child was designated as the heir. In governmental affairs, the monarch received assistance from court officials, including the chamberlain and the chancellor. By the time of the Galactic Civil War, both of these roles were fulfilled by Jooli, a nobleman who served both the King of Shu-Torun and his successor, Queen Trios. As dictated by Shu-Torun's customs, Jooli's role as an aide and advisor granted him the authority to overrule decisions made by a newly crowned monarch.

During Darth Vader's mission to Shu-Torun, the king devised a scheme to assassinate the Sith Lord as a component of a larger plot to revolt against the dominion of the Galactic Empire. This scheme ultimately failed, resulting in the deaths of the king and his two oldest offspring, Prince Monthan and Princess Hollian. Princess Trios, the king's third child, was spared and appointed by Vader to govern Shu-Torun as the Empire's symbolic queen. Despite the elimination of the royal family, Duke Rubix and his allies initiated a widespread rebellion against the new monarch due to her reaffirmed loyalty to the Empire.
