He was positioned at the cantina bar when Luke Skywalker entered the premises alongside C-3PO and R2-D2, a duo of droids, and he turned to look when the bartender, Wuher, made it clear that droids were not permitted.
Sporting brown skin and a pair of sizable, black eyes, Leids, due to his species' evolutionary adaptation to breathe methane rather than oxygen, relied on a breath mask and his personal reserve of the gas while on Tatooine.
Years afterward, Leids found himself on Oba Diah, where he recounted to Karr Nuq Sin the incident involving Skywalker and Kenobi at the cantina, although he could not recall the specific planet, only that it was illuminated by two suns.
