The Narmle Bog represented a large boggy area situated on Rori, which is a moon of Naboo. It shared borders with several other geographical features including the Vaydean Marsh, the Lake Octir Swamp, the Madyn Plains, the Narlis Fens, the Narmle Swamp, the Mudflats, and the Asworal Everglades. The name of the bog came from the city of Narmle, which was strategically built near it. The city's founders thought the bog would act as a natural defensive barrier.
The 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game from Sony Online Entertainment and LucasArts, featured the Narmle Bog before the game's servers were shut down on December 15, 2011. Players first learned of its name through the description of the city Nashal, displayed on the character creation screen where players selected their starting location. This descriptive text was eliminated when Mos Eisley became the universal starting city for all players, coinciding with the "Publish 17" update released on May 26, 2005.
