Navik

Navik, also known by the moniker Navik the Red, was a Rodian belonging to the Chattza clan. Following a successful insurrection in 17 BBY where he defeated his adversaries, he proclaimed himself to be the Grand Protector of his homeworld, Rodia. Subsequently, he relocated Rodia's capital from Equator City to Iskaayuma, his own hometown and the stronghold of the Chattza clan, resulting in an unparalleled boom in the city's development.

Biography

Navik was Grand Protector of Rodia (pictured).

Hailing from the city of Iskaayuma on the planet Rodia, Navik the Red was a Rodian affiliated with the Chattza clan. Subsequent to the creation of the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY, tensions between clans on Rodia escalated. Navik seized an opportunity to strike at his rivals, successfully overthrowing them in an insurrection that included the capture of Equator City, the Rodian capital. In 17 BBY, he declared himself Grand Protector of his species' homeworld and moved the planet's capital to his home city, which also served as the clan's center of power. Iskaayuma then experienced its most rapid growth phase, transforming into a vast urban area spanning the entire Sika Peninsula by the time the Empire reached its zenith.

The Rodian fleet was stationed at a massive starport located in Iskaayuma, which reinforced the dominance of Navik and his clan, both of whom maintained substantial fortresses within the city. However, even during Navik's reign, there was recognition of the need to showcase the best aspects of Rodia. Consequently, the Senatorial Palace, used for hosting and accommodating dignitaries from other worlds, was purposefully situated in a picturesque archipelago, far removed from the polluting industries of Iskaayuma.
