The Neti were a legendary species of sentient beings, said to resemble trees. It was believed that some Neti made their home on the forest moon of the planet Ossus. The Qel-Droma Epics recount the tale of T'alla, a Neti Jedi Master who constructed the Gardens of T'alla inside the Great Jedi Library on Ossus. She then herself planted in the center, undergoing a transformation into a tree.
The 2016 Star Wars: Force and Destiny sourcebook, titled Nexus of Power from Fantasy Flight Games, marked the first canonically mention of the Neti. The name Neti was shared with the uneti tree, initially described in Star Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary, authored by Pablo Hidalgo and released by DK Publishing on December 15, 2017.
Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Neti were a species of shapeshifting sentient plants. They were conceived by author Tom Veitch and artist Chris Gossett for the character Ood Bnar, debuting in the comic Tales of the Jedi 5: The Saga of Nomi Sunrider, Part 3, published by Dark Horse Comics on February 1, 1994.
