Vel Sartha, while trying to locate Maarva's son Cassian, watched Andor's house and her associates, Bix Caleen and Brasso, from Nicola's, located across the street, as she waited for Cinta Kaz, her lover, to arrive. During this time, Sartha's beverage became cold. Kaz stayed on Ferrix following this and assimilated into the local population, securing employment at Nicola's in the week leading up to Maarva Andor's death. Corv, an attendant working for the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB), also posed as a regular citizen, an act that Kaz detected. Knowing he was with the ISB, she vigilantly monitored him during his visits to Nicola's, a location both of them utilized for observing the Andor residence.
