Nilim Bril was a Twi'lek male of the Rutian variety. He resided in the Ryloth city of Nabat alongside his niece, Numa.
Following the invasion of Ryloth by Techno Union Foreman Wat Tambor, a member of the Separatist alliance, Nilim Bril and the other Twi'leks living in Nabat were taken prisoner by Tactical droid commander TX-20. The droid intended to use them as a "living shield" against the Republic army, under the assumption that the Republic would avoid risking innocent lives.
Upon discovering the Twi'leks' capture, General Obi-Wan Kenobi instructed his clone troopers to exercise caution during their attacks to minimize harm to civilians. During this operation, two clone troopers, named Waxer and Boil, encountered Brill's niece, Numa. She guided them through the town's hidden underground passages, leading them to a square where they met up with General Kenobi and the rest of the squad.
Kenobi, who possessed the ability to speak Ryl, requested that Numa lead them through the passages to the location of the hostages, an offer she accepted. This enabled the Republic forces to successfully free the hostages and launch a flanking maneuver against the droid forces.
After Obi-Wan, Waxer, and Boil were knocked aside by TX-20's tank, Numa rushed to their aid. Inspired by her bravery, Nilim rallied the Twi'leks to attack the tactical droid, resulting in its destruction. After General Mace Windu and the other Acclamator-class landing ships arrived, Nilim, Numa, and the other villagers watched as both Kenobi's and Windu's forces departed from Nabat to continue the liberation of the planet.
