Following the conclusion of the Clone Wars and the collapse of the Techno Union, the Galactic Empire took control of the planet Skako Minor, formerly the base of operations for the Techno Union. Wat Tambor, the Union's Foreman, met his end at the hands of Darth Vader, the Sith Lord, during the mission to Mustafar; subsequently, Vader was dispatched to Skako Minor to eliminate Tambor's remaining loyalists and install a pro-Imperial regime. The Skakoans found themselves under the dominion of the Imperial Military, amidst the ruins of their society.
Hallio Bas became a collaborator with the Empire, driven by the aspiration that his actions might eventually bring about the end of the occupation. He negotiated agreements with the Imperial Military, promising to deliver looters into their custody in exchange for the eventual liberation of the planet. However, the Empire failed to uphold its promises and maintained its presence. Bas's ultimate betrayal occurred when he lured a Son-tuul Pride team into an Imperial ambush. Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra deployed a genetically engineered Tooka named Flufto to kill Bas and a significant portion of the Imperial force he had led them to. Sometime after, Tambor's grandson Jul endeavored to liberate the planet and established a blockade.
