Appazanna Engineering Works was responsible for their production. These vehicles derived their designation from the oevvaor, an aquatic sea creature indigenous to Kashyyyk. During the conflict known as the Battle of Kashyyyk, these catamarans played a role in supporting the Republic forces as they defended Kachirho.
This twin-hulled craft was designed for traversing the numerous oceans and seas of Kashyyyk. Equipped with repulsorlift technology, these catamarans had the capability to reach altitudes of up to 1000 meters. Propulsion was achieved through engines with design features akin to those found in podracers, enabling speeds of up to 370 kilometers per hour. The primary construction material for the chassis was wroshyr wood.
This Wookiee vehicle received its name from the Oevvaor, a predatory marine reptile native to Kashyyyk, recognized for its swiftness and territorial nature. The front of the craft was designed to resemble the ax-like horn of a male Oevvaor. These vehicles proved to be highly valuable to the Wookiees, who utilized them for navigating above the Wroshyr trees and sailing the waterways of the Wawaatt Archipelago.
Typically, Oevvaor Catamarans served as fishing vessels or recreational craft. However, in times of threat to the Wookiee homeworld, a large number of these vessels were repurposed and outfitted with improvised weaponry. Their most notable deployment occurred during the Battle of Kashyyyk, where their agility and velocity proved crucial in conducting small arms assaults through Separatist formations. Their value was once again displayed during the Battle of Kashyyyk, with Jedi General Quinlan Vos himself operating aboard one during the conflict. When the Galactic Empire commenced the occupation of Kashyyyk, the Kashyyyk resistance made use of catamarans in their efforts.
