Oggdo Bogdo

The Oggdo Bogdo was an uncommon subspecies belonging to the Oggdo family, a formidable and dominant predator indigenous to the Outer Rim planet of Bogano. Known for its extreme aggression and ferocity, this creature surpassed the typical Oggdo in both size and lethality, exhibiting a shell highly resistant to lightsaber attacks and possessing immense physical power.

Biology and appearance

Oggdo Bogdos possessed incredibly tough shells, capable of withstanding blows even from lightsaber weaponry. They were characterized by having three eyes and a prehensile tongue that extended up to eight meters in length, which they used to ensnare prey and draw them into their powerful jaws. Despite their considerable size, they were remarkably agile, demonstrating the ability to leap around their surroundings to strategically position themselves during hunts.

Behavior

The Oggdo Bogdos were regarded as significantly more dangerous than their more prevalent counterparts. When stalking their prey, they would constantly reposition themselves to inflict maximum damage at close quarters.

History

During the Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis' mission aimed at re-establishing the Jedi Order in 14 BBY, he faced and eliminated an Oggdo Bogdo situated in the Bogdo Sinkholes of Bogano. Five years later, in 9 BBY on the planet Koboh, Kestis encountered the Spawn of Oggdo, a particularly savage and even more formidable Oggdo Bogdo, possibly a descendant of the one he had previously defeated on Bogano. After its defeat, Cal used the Force to connect with a worrt, sensing that it was "judging him."

Within the Rambler's Reach outpost, Kestis also discovered a wounded echo in the Force, requiring him to battle both the Spawn of Oggdo and its original progenitor within his own mind to mend the echo's injury.

Kestis's encounter with the Oggdo Boggdo was documented in "Species From A to Z," a survival guide dispatched by Carson Teva during the New Republic Era.

Behind the scenes

The initial appearance of the Oggdo Bogdo was in the 2019 video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which was developed by Respawn Entertainment. In this game, the creature functions as an optional boss fight on Bogano and is recognized as one of the four "legendary creatures" that players must overcome to achieve complete game completion. The novel titled Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars later confirmed that Cal Kestis had indeed fought an Oggdo Bogdo at some point, while his victory over the specific creature featured in Fallen Order was officially recognized in the 2023 sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

A second version, significantly more challenging and known as the "Spawn of Oggdo," is presented in Fallen Order's sequel, Survivor. It appears as a hidden and optional boss on the planet Koboh and rewards the player with the poncho from Fallen Order upon its defeat. The Spawn of Oggdo is also presented as an optional encounter in a Force tear within the shop owned by Doma Dendra, where it is fought alongside the original Oggdo Bogdo from the previous game.
