Order of the Night Wind

The Order of the Night Wind, frequently shortened to just the Night Wind, was a group of assassins operating within the confines of Hutt Space. These assassins were known for their acrobatic fighting style, enabling them to swiftly descend from rooftops and engage in close-quarters combat. They utilized both melee weapons and projected energy shields to effectively trap their targets. They were considered among the most skilled assassins available for hire throughout the galaxy, and were notoriously tight-lipped about their clientele if captured.

History

The Night Wind assassin captured by Fennec Shand

During 9 ABY, assassins from the Night Wind ambushed Daimyo Boba Fett, though their assassination attempt was unsuccessful. Fennec Shand managed to capture one of these assassins alive. Initially, the captured assassin refused to disclose the identity of his employer during interrogation. However, after being threatened with being dropped into a rancor pit, he implicated Mayor Mok Shaiz as the one who hired them. When the assassin was presented to Mok Shaiz, the mayor ordered his guards to execute him, citing the Night Wind's supposed prohibition from operating outside of Hutt space. Subsequently, he offered a bounty reward to Boba Fett, who instead accepted the payment as a form of tribute. Later, in a conversation between Boba Fett and Fennec Shand regarding the assassin, Fennec expressed doubt that the mayor possessed the authority to engage the Night Wind. She suggested that the recently arrived Twin Hutts were more likely suspects. Nevertheless, she acknowledged the possibility of involvement from a third or even fourth party.

The Zabrak named Nox became a member of the Order of the Night Wind for a time after the group saw her abilities, making her one of them. She ultimately departed from the organization to join the Hunters of the Outer Rim, believing it would provide her with the necessary exposure to gather information about her missing sister.

Behind the scenes

The Night Wind order made its debut in "Chapter 1: Stranger in a Strange Land", which served as the premiere episode of the live-action Disney+ television program The Book of Boba Fett.
