FN-2187 was tasked with cleaning an AAL-1971/9.1 Troop Transport that had just returned from the muddy planet. FN-2187 was not fond of the First Order's habit of landing on mud planets. He would rather they visit planets made of cakes. A strange noise emanated from the troop transport, prompting him to investigate. A creature native to the planet had managed to sneak onto the transport. The purple furred creature jumped onto FN-2187's helmet, causing him to frantically run around the hangar bay, trying to dislodge the creature. He collided with a TIE fighter, causing his helmet to fall off, along with the creature. FN-2187 stood up, recalling Captain Phasma's instructions that he must never be compromised, a lesson from his training. He realized he had been compromised when the creature absconded with his helmet.
While in pursuit of the creature through the corridors, they passed Kylo Ren, General Armitage Hux, and other First Order officers. They were engaged in a discussion about a planet situated in the Western Reaches of the galaxy. FN-2187 slumped to the floor, anticipating severe punishment. The situation deteriorated when the creature re-entered the room where Kylo Ren and the officers were gathered and began tampering with a control panel, resulting in a power outage. Kylo Ren activated his red-bladed lightsaber to illuminate the room. FN-2187 dashed into the room, seizing the creature and contemplating how to explain the situation to Kylo Ren. He briefly entertained the notion that Kylo Ren and the creature might become friends, but quickly dismissed it, realizing Kylo Ren would likely jettison the creature into the void of space. The creature escaped again, riding atop a mouse droid and entering a bathroom. FN-2187 caught up to the creature and recaptured it. Suddenly, the shower turned on, and the stormtrooper sought a means of escape. Kylo Ren began knocking on the door, requesting to speak with Captain Phasma, who was in the shower. FN-2187 grabbed Phasma's helmet and placed it against the door, deceiving Kylo Ren into believing it was her. Kylo Ren stated that he had transmitted orders to "her," ensuring she had received them. Kylo Ren also mentioned sensing the presence of something from the planet below on the ship and instructed "Phasma" to locate any Resistance activity on the planet and bring it to him. Ren departed, and FN-2187 was astonished that the ruse had worked.
Shortly thereafter, on the surface of GUHL-J0387O, FN-2187 and other stormtroopers were directed to search the area for any Resistance presence. Phasma ordered the stormtrooper to regain control of the ship as it hurtled towards her. Finn managed to gain control of the ship, narrowly avoiding her. The ship impacted the surface and crashed nearby. Phasma approached and instructed him to execute the creature and consider its potential uses afterward. FN-2187 hesitated to comply and even contemplated taking down Phasma, but the stormtroopers would kill him. Before he could act, more of the purple furred creatures appeared, and FN-2187 suggested they leave them alone. Phasma concurred and ordered the stormtrooper to replace his helmet.
