New Republic Era

The New Republic Era, alternatively called the era of the New Republic, the age of the New Republic, or the post-Imperial era, designates the stretch of time directly subsequent to the Imperial Era. This period is characterized by the restoration of the Old Republic in the form of the democratic New Republic, which was progressively built following the defeat of the fascist Galactic Empire on Endor. In approximately 9 ABY, a galactic recession was in effect, significantly affecting the economy, notably fuel costs, and the profession of bounty hunting.

Despite being largely a peaceful time, the administration's inattentiveness ultimately resulted in political disunity, which consequently enabled the Rise of the First Order. The destruction of the New Republic's governing body by the First Order's Starkiller Base—an event that triggered open war between the First Order and the Resistance—marked the commencement of the Age of the Resistance or Era of the Resistance. This struggle concluded with the Resistance's triumph in the Battle of Exegol and citizen uprisings against the First Order; however, the nature of the future galactic government remained uncertain even several months after the Resistance's success.
