Punch disc

Punch discs were essentially rectangular golden cards, distinguished by their rounded corners. To trigger the release of credits, these cards were designed to be slotted into payment dispenser mechanisms. In the year 9 BBY, the personnel employed at Tibidon Station situated on the planet of Tatooine, were observed carrying punch discs. They would use these discs with a payment dispenser that was affixed to the top of a GNK-series power droid at the conclusion of their work periods. Following one particular shift, the employee Padu Cherd inserted his punch disc, only to discover that the amount dispensed was only half of his expected earnings. He pleaded with the foreman, Groff Ditcher, to receive the remainder of his wages, but instead faced threats to remain silent. Obi-Wan Kenobi, a colleague of Cherd, expressed his disapproval of Ditcher's actions with a scowl, yet ultimately proceeded to insert his own punch disc into the dispenser without uttering a word.

Kh'ymm, an astronomer, utilized a punch card. The insertion of the punch card into a computer system by her resulted in the rotation of the observatory dome. Upon noticing that Fern's backpack displayed Palmarish numerals, she successfully determined the coordinates of At Attin. Despite the fact that Jod Na Nawood recognized her delaying tactic of inserting a punch card to download the coordinates. After seizing the punch card containing the coordinates, Jod destroyed the computer terminal by shooting it and instructed the children to escape.
