Qar Jalunn, a man of considerable wealth and influence, operated as an investor in the Cularin system during the Invasion of Naboo. This male businessman engaged in clandestine meetings with the Thaereian military, an armed force established by the Galactic Republic via charter to ensure order in the Cularin system. Furthermore, Jalunn provided funding for cutting-edge cybernetics and genetic studies led by the discredited scientist, Yush Baskalar.
Around the time of the Invasion of Naboo, Qar Jalunn, a male of significant financial means, was active as a private investor. Approximately 31 BBY, in his younger years, Jalunn was drawn to the Cularin system by the burgeoning industry on the floating cities of Genarius, the third planet in the system. Upon arriving on Genarius, Jalunn invested heavily in any venture that promised profitability, although roughly half of these investments proved unsuccessful. Jalunn also contracted pirate groups operating from the Cularin asteroid belt to carry out tasks on his behalf.
Jalunn occasionally interacted with the Thaereian military, a military army force hailing from the Thaereian system and chartered by the Galactic Republic to maintain peace within the Cularin system. During these meetings with the Thaereians, Jalunn communicated directly with Tira Wils, the de facto head of security for Colonel Jir Tramsig, the commander of the Thaereian forces in the Cularin system, as she was the only individual Tramsig trusted to engage with Jalunn.
After the scientist Yush Baskalar was terminated from his position at the university for conducting high-risk advanced research in cybernetics and genetics, Jalunn took interest. Jalunn promptly offered Baskalar unlimited funding to continue his research that had led to his dismissal, under the condition that the disgraced scientist dedicate his services to the Thaereian military. Baskalar accepted the offer, and Jalunn arranged for his relocation to the Cularin system, providing him with new, cutting-edge facilities to continue his work. Despite the advanced equipment, Baskalar found his new work environment unfavorable and threatened to leave, but Jalunn managed to convince him to remain.
Qar Jalunn was known for possessing an abundance of credits. He invested in any opportunity that showed even a hint of potential for profit. He seemed unfazed by investment losses, even when a significant portion of his portfolio underperformed.
Qar Julunn's initial mention occurred in the Living Force Campaign Guide, a sourcebook authored by Robert Wiese and released in 2001, setting the stage for the Living Force roleplaying campaign. He later received an entry in the 2008 compendium The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia.
