During the Battle of Hoth, the Quantum Storm distinguished itself as the initial Rebel transport that managed to break through the Imperial blockade. It evaded the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Tyrant because Toryn Farr fired precisely timed shots from Echo Base's v-150 ion cannon.
The Quantum Storm was the first transport to leave the planet, and it had non-fighting Echo Base staff aboard. Governor Everi Chalis, an Imperial defector, was meant to be on the transport, but remained to assist Captain Micha Evon who was hurt.
